THIRUVARUT PRAKASA VALLALAR

In 1867, There was a preparation to publish first four ‘THIRUMURAI’s of “THIRUVARUTPA” book. In cover page, there was a caption mentioning, “Thiruvarut Prakasa Vallalar Aruliya Thiruvarutpa” (vallalar name as “Thiruvarut Prakasa Vallalar”, he is presenting “Aruliya” and Name of the book as “Thiruvarutpa”). Vallalar had noticed the caption and he had called his chief disciple ‘Thozhuvur Velayudha Mudhaliyar’ to question him with anger that who asked him to publish his name as Thiruvarut Prakasa Vallalar. Chief disciple feared, standstill and looking at Vallalar’s holy feet.

After few moments Vallalar had changed the caption as “Thiruvarut Prakasa Vallal Pathi Ar” claiming “Chidambaram Ramalingam Pillai”. The new caption means that who is GOD (Thiruvarut Prakasa Vallal Pathi) asked by Vallalar (Chidambaram Ramalingam Pillai). There after this name was mentioned as a reverent honor to call Vallalar.

Thiruvarut Prakasa Vallalar Aruliya Thiruvarutpa – mentions Vallalar
Thiruvarut Prakasa Vallal(ar) Aruliya Thiruvarutpa – mentions GOD
